Teaching Assistant: SEMH / PLMD Support: Mainstream Primary School
Reeson Education is working with a welcoming mainstream primary school in the WA4 area of Warrington to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs and PLMD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties). This is a full-time, long-term position starting ASAP.
The school is inclusive and supportive, with a strong focus on meeting the needs of all learners. You will be working closely with pupils who require additional support to access learning, regulate emotions, and develop confidence in a structured and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide targeted support to pupils with SEMH and PLMD needs within a mainstream classroom setting
- Work 1:1 and in small groups to support learning, communication, and engagement
- Assist the class teacher in adapting lessons to meet individual needs
- Use a calm and patient approach to support emotional regulation and behaviour
- Help create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
- Encourage independence, confidence, and participation in learning activities

What We're Looking For
- Experience supporting children with SEMH, PLMD, or additional learning needs (desirable)
- A patient, calm, and empathetic approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils who need extra support
- A commitment to a full-time, long-term role in a school setting
