SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Yeovil
Salary: £93 – £110 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Start Date: September 2026

About the Role
Connex Education is seeking SEND Teaching Assistants to support primary schools across Somerset, including Yeovil, Taunton, Bridgwater, and Highbridge.
This role is perfect for those who thrive on variety, wish to build experience in diverse school settings, and are passionate about empowering children with additional learning needs within a positive, inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide personalised support for pupils with diverse learning needs
- Deliver one-to-one mentoring, small-group sessions, and classroom assistance
- Foster independence, confidence, and positive learning habits
- Support in communication, emotional regulation, and social skills where required
- Follow teacher, SENDCo, and school team guidance
- Maintain a calm, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment

Essential Requirements
✅ Previous experience in SEND, care, youth work, or education (advantageous but not essential) ✅ Patient, encouraging, and resilient approach ✅ Strong communication and teamwork skills ✅ Compassionate dedication to supporting children with additional needs ✅ Understanding of safeguarding principles (training available if needed) ✅ Cleared Enhanced DBS Check (on the Update Service) or willing to apply
