SEN Teaching Assistant: Hounslow: Full Time: September Start

TLTP are currently working with a secondary school in Hounslow who are looking to recruit an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a student with complex behavioural needs. This is a full-time position starting in September and will continue for the full academic year.

Responsibilities

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide dedicated 1:1 support for a secondary-aged student with additional needs and behaviours that may challenge. You will work closely with the SENCo, pastoral team, and class teachers to implement behaviour support strategies, encourage engagement in learning, and help the student access the curriculum safely and successfully.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND
  • Excellent behaviour management skills
  • Accredited restraint or positive handling training (such as Team Teach, PRICE, MAPA, or equivalent)
  • Calm under pressure, resilient, patient, and confident in using de-escalation techniques
