Specialist SEN Support Assistant
Location: Exeter, Devon
Contract: Full-Time | Monday to Friday

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs? A specialist education provision in Exeter is looking for a motivated and caring Specialist SEN Support Assistant to join their dedicated team.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a nurturing educational environment where every student is encouraged to develop their confidence, independence, and life skills. You will provide essential support to pupils with a variety of needs, ensuring they can access learning and achieve positive outcomes both inside and outside the classroom.
Your Role
As a Specialist SEN Support Assistant, You Will
- Provide tailored support to students with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH needs, and learning difficulties
- Work closely with teaching staff to deliver engaging and accessible learning experiences
- Support pupils with their academic, social, and emotional development
- Encourage positive communication and relationship-building skills
- Assist students in managing routines, transitions, and daily activities
- Promote independence and celebrate individual achievements
- Help create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
- Support with behaviour management strategies where appropriate
- Contribute to student progress by providing regular feedback to the wider team

What We're Looking For
The Successful Candidate Will
- Have experience working with children, young people, or adults with additional needs
- Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
- Be adaptable and confident supporting a variety of learning and behavioural needs
- Have strong communication and teamwork skills
- Be comfortable supporting students with personal care when required
- Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to their own vehicle
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one
