Pay: Competitive rates depending on experience

We are working with a well-regarded Secondary School in Braintree, rated GOOD by Ofsted, that is seeking a caring and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant. Job Overview:

  • This school caters for students aged 11-16.
  • Full-time, Monday - Friday SEN Teaching Assistant role.
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with additional learning needs.
  • Support students with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties.
  • Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to implement tailored support strategies.
  • Help create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Encourage student confidence, independence and engagement in lessons.
  • Support behaviour management and emotional wellbeing across the school day.
  • Assist with classroom preparation and differentiated learning activities.

This SEN Teaching Assistant role in Braintree offers the opportunity to work within a supportive and welcoming school environment, with ongoing professional development and the chance to make a meaningful impact on students' lives every day.

What we're looking for:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
  • A patient, empathetic and supportive approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • A proactive and flexible attitude.
  • Previous school-based experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
