Role Information
An outstanding SEN school in Harrow is seeking an experienced and approachable SEN Teaching Assistant for a position starting as soon as possible, working with Autistic pupils.
For this position, you will need to be an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant who has worked with pupils who either have Severe Learning Difficulties or who are on the autistic spectrum.
- Responsibilities:
- Work mainly with Key Stage 2 pupils who all have a diagnosis of autism and have significant delays in their academic and social abilities.
- Many of these students have limited communication skills and as a result, experience working with students who have speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN) would be advantageous.
- This lovely Harrow SEN school uses PECS and Makaton in class to support the students' communication development.
- Work in a class of 8 pupils alongside another experienced SEN TA and a specialist SEN Teacher.
- The children are lovely, very well behaved, and enjoy school. However, you will need to be able to work under your own initiative, have emotional intelligence, be mindful of your tone of voice/choice of words, and body language, have good concentration levels, the ability to multitask, and bring energy and enthusiasm to the job.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
