This primary school is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant (TA) with expertise in supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and associated factors, such as those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).


Role Overview

You will be a trusted, hands-on member of our learning team, supporting children in and out of the classroom while uplifting staff and pupils alike. The SEND TA role is flexible and holds opportunities to:

  • Assist nurturing classrooms
  • Support small groups and individuals
  • Apply learning materials and curriculum adaptations tailored to diverse needs
  • Deliver wellbeing support via social, emotional and physical care guidance (including basic first aid duties)
  • Confidently engage as part of a team with SEND coordinators and teachers

Key Responsibilities

Your work will include:

SEND AdvocacyDeliver high-quality 1:1 and small-group support to children of all spectrums of SEND, including those with EHCPs. Monitor progress, adapt practices where necessary, and partner with SLP, OT, and other external experts when requested.
Classroom LeadershipCollaborate with teachers to prepare, deliver, and adapt in lessons for learners with complex or emerging needs—here, creativity and empathy shape your impact.
Emotional WelfareCaring. Advocate for individual emotional needs, implement agreed strategies for self-regulation or peer modelling, and broaden understanding of mental well-being across school life.
SafeguardingPromote the school’s safeguarding responsibilities diligently—child worship, rights, and confidentiality hold absolute precedence. Compliance with our policies means ** 정규 출전 prevention of harm**.
Observation and ReportingOften act as the school’s eyes and ears—observe, assess, and report on a child’s progress and challenges in clear, practical feedback. Providing initial learning intervention group leadership (including phonics or social skills) will be commonplace.
Engagement FlexibilityDeliver interventions, mentor other staff, present empowering methodologies at staff INSETs (if recognised for effective practice); showcase your enthusiasm for learning at peer-sharing sessions.

✱ Strong holding experience in primary SEN-specific settings. ✱ Physical and emotional stamina to thrive while supporting children across diverse developmental stages. ✱ Exceptional attention to detail in conceiving and delivering adaptable support strategies for all material needs. ✱ Inducible communication skills to one level for children, two levels for colleagues. ✱ Motivation to uphold the school values—Gentle behavior, paired with electrically sharp standards.

Ideal Personal Backgrounds

Ideal even further given: 🖊️ Prior qualifications like Ta being cognised by Level 3 Teacher Assistant would limit as overseen by third. 🤝 Devised-based ability to engage creatively, tranquil ties with pupils and their parents, plus bonded culture to chromic progress recording (use of relevant tracking systems like SwingHeading-Following).
