Reeson Education is looking for dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant professionals to join our team for September 2026 opportunities across East London, with a particular focus on the borough of Waltham Forest, including Walthamstow, Leyton, Leytonstone, Chingford, and Highams Park.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with additional needs across a range of welcoming primary schools. This SEN Teaching Assistant opportunity is ideal for candidates who are passionate about making a real difference and helping every child achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 support as an SEN Teaching Assistant for pupils with additional needs
  • Support small intervention groups as an SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Work with children with autism, ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language needs as an SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Assist the class teacher and SENCO as an SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Promote positive behaviour, confidence, and independence as an SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Help create an inclusive and engaging learning environment as an SEN Teaching Assistant

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or supporting children with special educational needs
  • A caring, patient, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Understanding of behaviour management and SEN strategies
  • A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
  • Availability to start in September 2026
