SEN Teaching Assistant
SEMH Teaching Assistant – Burgess Hill
Salary: £93–£100 per day (12-week placement) | £22,000–£23,500 per annum upon permanent transfer Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM–3:30 PM

About the Role
We are recruiting for a SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Burgess Hill, supporting primary and secondary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This specialist setting provides a nurturing and supportive environment for pupils with SEMH needs. With small class sizes, a personalised approach to learning, and a strong focus on wellbeing, staff work together to help young people build confidence, resilience, and positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils with SEMH needs both in and out of the classroom
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and engagement in learning
- Build strong relationships and act as a positive role model
- Work closely with teachers and support staff to help pupils succeed

Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people (education, care, youth work, or similar)
- GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
- Right to work in the UK or a valid visa
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Strong communication skills and a passion for helping others
