Quantum Scholars is looking for a dedicated and supportive SEN Tutor to work with children and young people in Leominster, Herefordshire. This is a 1:1 in-person role, delivered in community settings and in children and young people's homes. This is not online work.
This role would suit a tutor, teacher, learning mentor or education professional with experience supporting children and young people with special educational needs, including learners experiencing Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA). You will provide personalised tuition and support, helping each learner build confidence, engagement and progress at a pace that works for them.

The role may involve
- Delivering 1:1 tuition in person to children and young people with SEN
- Supporting learners experiencing Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA)
- Supporting learners in community settings and in their homes
- Planning and adapting sessions to meet individual learning needs
- Helping learners develop confidence, motivation and positive learning routines
- Supporting core skills such as English, maths, communication and wider learning, depending on the learner's needs
- Using a calm, patient and flexible approach to build positive relationships
- Liaising with parents, carers and relevant professionals where appropriate
- Keeping clear records of attendance, progress and session outcomes
- Promoting safeguarding, wellbeing and a safe learning environment at all times
Essential Requirements
- Experience supporting children or young people with special educational needs
- Experience supporting learners with EBSA, anxiety, low confidence or barriers to school attendance would be beneficial
- A patient, reliable and person-centred approach
- Confidence delivering 1:1 support or tuition in person
- Ability to adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
- Strong communication and organisation skills
- Willingness to work in community settings and children and young people's homes
