Rikama Education is a trusted partner to Kent County Council, providing experienced SEN (Special Educational Needs) tuition support to Children and Young People (CYP) across Kent. We are now recruiting dedicated and experienced professionals for SEN Tutor roles in Gravesend, delivering personalised 1:1 home and virtual tuition to learners with SEN & Disabilities (SEND). This role is ideal for qualified teachers and experienced SEN specialists seeking meaningful, flexible work.


About the Role

Delivery: Between 10–20 hours per week per student as part of a young person’s EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) or care package.

Working Environment:

  • Typically home-based provision (working within family homes)
  • Virtual tuition (online support)
  • Close collaboration with parents and multi-agency professionals

As a SEN Tutor, your core responsibilities will involve:

  • Delivering structured 1:1 SEN tuition in Gravesend.
  • Supporting CYP with EHCPs and complex additional needs.
  • Planning and adapting lessons to meet individual learning goals.
  • Building positive, supportive relationships with pupils and parents.
  • Providing progress reports in line with Kent County Council requirements.

SEN Tutor – Requirements

To be considered for this SEN Tutor position in Gravesend, you should have:

✔ QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) / QTLS (Qualified Teacher Learning & Skills) (strongly preferred) OR ✔ Substantial experience working as:

  • A SEN Tutor
  • Supporting children with SEN through alternate provision

✔ Experience delivering 1:1 tuition
