SEN Tutor
SEN Tutor – Medway (Flexible Hours)
As a SEN Tutor, you will deliver 10–20 hours of 1:1 tuition per week for young people with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) or as part of a care package. Your role will involve working primarily in the family home (or virtually), collaborating closely with parents, multi-agency professionals, and Kent County Council.
The SEN Tutor Role
- Deliver structured 1:1 SEN tuition in Medway, often in a home-based setting.
- Support children and young people (CYP) with complex additional needs, including:
- Autism (ASD)
- ADHD
- SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs)
- Anxiety and EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance)
- Moderate learning difficulties
- Medical needs or complex profiles
- Plan and adapt lessons to meet individual learning goals.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and care teams.
- Provide structured progress reports in line with Kent County Council requirements.

SEN Tutor Requirements
To Apply:
✔ QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) / QTLS (Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills) – Highly Preferred (OR equivalent substantial experience as a SEN Tutor or supporting children with additional needs)
✔ Experience delivering 1:1 tuition or alternative provision
✔ Strong behaviour management and differentiation skills
✔ Enhanced DBS check (on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one)
