About This Opportunity
We are seeking to appoint an exceptional, experienced qualified teacher for a part-time SENCO role (3 days per week, with one day in the classroom).
Main Areas of Responsibility
The key purpose of this role is to:
- Play a critical leadership role within the academy to ensureall pupils with additional needs make accelerated progress and achieve their best.
- Directly contribute to accelerated learning progress through high-quality intervention support, based on deep knowledge of pupils’ specific needs.
- Uphold and promote the academy’s vision, values, and aims through high expectations and consistent role modelling.
- Lead and direct the support for children with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).
- Take the lead on monitoring and school self-evaluation regarding SEND.
- Guide and support diagnostic and intervention teams to deliver an effective provision for pupils with SEND.
- Analyse assessment data from multiple sources to inform whole-school planning and resource allocation.
- Assist the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) in managing professional duties as delegated.

What We Are Looking For
The successful candidate will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO)
- Evidence of continuous professional development, including courses, INSET training, action research, or independent study—with clear measurable impact.
- A strong commitment to ongoing CPD to adapt to the demands of the role.
- Proven experience in a successful SENCO position within a school.
- A track record of achieving outstanding pupil progress in SEND teams.
- Ability to lead professional teams, shape policies, and improve teaching quality and student outcomes across the school.
- Experience using data and data analysis to drive improvements.
- Deep knowledge and best practice in safeguarding children and young people.
