SEND 1:1 Tutor – Berkshire

SEND Mentors, Tutors & Support Workers – Wokingham Area

Quantum Scholars is expanding its network of SEND Tutors, Mentors, LSAs, Teaching Assistants, Behaviour Mentors, Youth Workers, Pastoral Support Staff, and Support Workers across Wokingham and the surrounding areas.

With a substantial increase in EOTAS (Education Other Than At School) and Alternative Provision referrals expected from September 2026, we are now recruiting ahead of the new academic year. Flexible opportunities will become available across the school year, catering to a wide range of needs.


Who We Support

Many of the young people we support experience challenges accessing mainstream education, including:

  • SEND-related issues
  • SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) difficulties
  • Autism & ADHD
  • Anxiety & trauma
  • Medical conditions
  • Behavioural challenges
  • EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance)

Our role provides:

  • Personalised 1:1 tuition and mentoring
  • Support for primary and secondary-aged learners
  • Matching with relevant age groups and student needs, based on your experience

The Role & Commitment

  • Primary work format: Face-to-face sessions, typically in the student’s home or a suitable community setting, though some online opportunities may arise.
  • Flexible hours, depending on availability and local demand.
    • Options range from casual fewer hours per week to more structured, longer-term commitments (potentially approaching full-time equivalent).
  • Suitable for:
    • Experienced SEND tutors
    • Classroom teachers seeking flexibility
    • Supply teachers wanting diversified work
    • Anaestents already in similar support roles

What We’re Looking For

✅ Experience supporting children and young people ✅ Strong communication and relationship-building skills ✅ A calm, patient, and adaptable approach ✅ Enhanced DBS (or willingness/availability to obtain one) ✅ Ability to travel across Wokingham and nearby regions
