About The Role
This SEND Class Teacher role in Atherstone is a full-time, permanent position at a specialist school starting in September. The salary ranges from £34,069 to £46,940 per annum. You will lead a small class of pupils with diverse needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition and Moderate Learning Difficulties. Supported by an experienced team of Teaching Assistants and outstanding resources, you will deliver tailored lessons to help each child reach their potential. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential, along with a genuine passion for supporting students with special educational needs. The Role
- Teaching a small class of pupils with special educational needs
- Planning and delivering creative, engaging and differentiated lessons
- Supporting pupils with Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties and communication needs
- Creating a safe, structured and nurturing classroom environment
- Working closely with experienced Teaching Assistants and specialist professionals
- Monitoring progress and contributing to EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
- Encouraging independence, confidence and positive social development
- Building strong relationships with families and external agencies
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching primary or secondary-aged pupils
- A passion for inclusive education and supporting children with SEND
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills
- The ability to differentiate learning to meet a range of needs
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Previous experience within a SEND setting is desirable but not essential
