SEND Office Manager / Lead Professional – Hillingdon Council

About the Role

Hillingdon Council is building on best practices to implement exciting improvements in our SEND services. We are committed to providing the highest level of support to children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), working closely with educational settings to ensure their needs are met effectively.

About You

We are seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable, and innovative professional passionate about enhancing SEND support across our local area.

Key Responsibilities & Required Qualities

  • A proven track record in team management and leadership, with strong problem-solving and solution-focused skills
  • In-depth understanding of SEND legislation, including:
    • The Children and Families Act 2014
    • Current SEND Code of Practice
  • Experience in handling SEND appeals, tribunals, and formal mediations
  • Knowledge of recent SEND case law and best practices
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to engage effectively with stakeholders
