Leader Education is partnering with specialist Complex Care Schools across West Yorkshire and is looking for compassionate, resilient and dedicated individuals to join their teams.

This is an incredibly rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) and complex care needs. Every day brings the chance to make a meaningful impact, helping pupils build confidence, develop independence, and achieve goals that matter to them.

The Role

As a Complex Care Support Assistant, You Will Work Closely With Pupils Who Have a Range Of Profound And Complex Needs, Including

  • Physical disabilities
  • Communication and interaction difficulties
  • Sensory processing needs
  • Social, emotional and behavioural needs
  • Complex medical requirements

You will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, develop life skills, and feel safe, supported and valued throughout their school day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual needs
  • Support pupils' social, emotional, personal and academic development
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and their families
  • Adapt your approach to meet each child's unique needs and learning style
  • Contribute to a safe, nurturing and structured learning environment
  • Support pupils in managing challenges positively and confidently
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and wider school staff
  • Follow and contribute to pupils' Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Provide personal care and support with dignity, compassion and respect when required

Experience working in schools, care settings, healthcare environments, residential services, nurseries or support roles is desirable but not essential.
