SEND Intervention Specialist Teaching Assistant
Working Pattern & Hours
- Hours of work: 31.25 (part-time, term-time only)
- Working hours: 8:30 am – 3:15 pm (Mon to Fri) with a 30-minute unpaid break daily
- Contract: Permanent, term-time only with holiday pay entitlement
About the Role As our new SEND Intervention Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group interventions across areas including:
- Literacy
- Numeracy
- Speech and language
- Social skills
- Emotional wellbeing programmes (e.g., CBT, Worry Busters)
- Work closely with the SENCO and wider support staff to:
- Develop, monitor, and review interventions
- Ensure programmes remain impactful and relevant to student needs and school priorities
- Directly support the progress and confidence of vulnerable students with additional needs
- Liaise with parents, staff, and students (e.g., in class, group sessions, homework club, or exam supervision)
- Contribute to a collaborative, safegarding-focused environment where every child thrives.

Key Details
- Grade: Single Status 4-5 (points 9-13), £25,185–£26,403 fte (pro rata). Actual salary: £18,377.61 gross per annum (£1,531.47/month)
- Salary pending pay award (2024 rate).
