I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Working closely with the SEND Unit Lead, class teachers, and the wider staff team, you will help to create a culture where every child is valued, supported, and able to achieve their potential. The role is initially non-teaching, allowing you to focus on leadership and systems, with opportunities to work directly with pupils as provision becomes further embedded.
We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of SEND and inclusive practice, who can lead and support others effectively, and is committed to developing high-quality provision for all learners. You will either hold, or be willing to work towards, the NASENCo qualification.
As part of the Embark Federation, Heath Primary School offers a collaborative and committed staff team, alongside high-quality professional development and leadership support. You will have the opportunity to shape SEND provision at a strategic level and make a meaningful difference to the lives of our pupils.
