SEND Mentors, Tutors & Support Workers – Somerset
Quantum Scholars is currently building its S Somerset team ahead of what is expected to be a busy September 2026, with a wide range of SEND, EOTAS, and Alternative Provision referrals anticipated across the county.
As demand continues to grow, we are looking to recruit SEND Tutors, Mentors, Learning Support Assistants (LSAs), Teaching Assistants, Behaviour Mentors, Youth Workers, Pastoral Support Staff, and SEND Support Workers who are passionate about helping vulnerable young people succeed.
Many of the learners we support are unable to access mainstream education and may have needs relating to:
- SEND
- SEMH
- Autism
- ADHD
- Anxiety
- Trauma
- Medical conditions
- Behavioural challenges
- EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance)

Support Delivered

Most tuition takes place 1:1, either:
- In a student’s home
- In a suitable community setting
- Occasionally online, where appropriate

Supports primary and secondary-aged learners.

Flexible match based on your comfort with specific age groups and needs.
Availability & Working Patterns
- Expected high volume of referrals from September 2026.
- Opportunities range from just a few hours per week to ongoing work closer to full-time, depending on your availability and learner needs.
Requirements & What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience supporting children or young people.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- A calm, patient, and adaptable approach.
- Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one if applicable).
- Driving and access to a vehicle is highly advantageous.
- Ability to travel within Somerset.
