We are looking to appoint two experienced SEND Officers to our welcoming and supportive team in Brent

Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.

The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.

The Post

The post holder will work alongside a colleague with a dedicated cluster of schools and a multi-disciplinary team either in one of the Brent Family Hub areas or with a cluster of our families whose children attend schools which are in neighbouring authorities or are independent special schools further afield.

Case loads are high, however our team is experienced and supportive and if you are ambitious about your future in SEND there are opportunities to develop yourself here in Brent.

The Person

You will be an experienced SEND Officer who knows the current legislation very well and is able to navigate case work within the boundaries of that legislation to enable our children and young people to have the special educational provision they need to reach their full potential and achieve their outcomes.

We need you to be organised and have great negotiation, conciliation and mediation skills so you can produce the excellent levels of case work required to ensure that families are always kept informed and satisfied with the provision we commission and the outcomes we achieve for their children and young people.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

An understanding of the legislation that our partners work within such as The Education Act 1996, The Equality Act 2010 and a bit about how children's and adult's social care work with our shared families would be a distinct bonus because all Send Officers will be working with an all age caseload of children and young people 0-25.
