SEND Specialist Teacher (Literacy SEN specialist)
SEND Specialist Teacher (Literacy SEN Specialist) – Permanent
Location: Holme Grange School, Cradle Meadow, Reading, RG31 6BP
Contract: Permanent (September 2026)
We are seeking to employ a dedicated, inspirational, and enthusiastic SEND Specialist Teacher (preferably with a specialism in literacy but open to candidates with expertise in literacy and/or numeracy).

The Role
Reporting to the SENDCos, the SEND Specialist Teacher will:
- Deliver high-quality specialist teaching, assessment, and intervention for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across Reception to Year 11.
- Work closely with SENDCs to deliver statutory provisions outlined in Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Lead targeted interventions to support pupils’ individual needs.
- Collaborate with teaching staff, support teams, and external professionals to ensure cohesive SEND provision.
- Utilise expertise in literacy (and/or numeracy) SEND to enhance curriculum delivery and differentiation.

About You
We are looking for a passionate, empathetic, and innovative educator with:
- Relevant qualifications and experience as a Special Needs Teacher (QTS or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of SEND-specific strategies in literacy, numeracy, or complementary areas.
- Commitment to inclusive practices and personalised learning.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multi-professional teams.
- Enthusiasm for professional development and continuous learning.
