SEN Teaching Assistant Specialist Support Swadlincote
Position: Full:Time, Long:Term (Term Time Only)
Salary: GBP90 : GBP95 per day (Weekly Pay : dependent on experience)
Start Date: Immediate / Next Term

We are seeking dedicated SEND Specialists to work with students across all ages who have a range of needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), or Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD). Your Role as an SEN Advocate
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you are the students bridge to the world, ensuring their environment is safe, inclusive, and stimulating.
Personalised Learning:
- Follow and implement EHCP goals, adapting classroom activities to meet the specific sensory and cognitive needs of the student.
Communication Support:
- Utilise alternative communication methods such as PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System), Makaton, or AAC devices to give every child a voice.
Emotional Regulation:
- Act as a calm consistent presence, recognising early signs of distress and using sensory breaks or de:escalation strategies to support the students wellbeing.
Collaborative Care:
- Work closely with the Class Teacher, SENCO, and external therapists to ensure a holistic approach to the childs development and safety.

Essential Requirements

- Are Exceptionally Patient: You understand that progress can be non:linear and you have the resilience to support students through challenging moments.
- Have Relevant Experience: This could be from a school, care setting, personal experience with family, or volunteering with SEND charities.
- Are a Team Player: You can take direction from specialists while using your own initiative to support the students daily routine.
- Are Committed: You hold an enhanced DBS on the update service (or are willing ) and are 100 dedicated to Safeguarding.
