SEND Teaching Assistant
Location

Salary
£93 – £110 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

About the Role
Connex Education is currently looking for SEND Teaching Assistants to support primary-aged pupils within schools across Bridgwater and the surrounding area.
We offer a variety of flexible and long-term opportunities for individuals who are passionate about helping children with additional needs overcome barriers to learning and achieve success in the classroom.
Working as part of a supportive school team, you’ll provide valuable assistance to pupils requiring additional educational and emotional support.
Responsibilities
- Support pupils with SEND during lessons and structured activities
- Deliver 1:1 and small-group interventions
- Assist children in developing confidence and independence
- Encourage positive behaviour and classroom participation
- Adapt support techniques to meet individual learning requirements
- Work collaboratively with teachers and SEND staff
- Support children’s wellbeing and emotional development
- Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment

Requirements
- SEND experience is advantageous but not essential
- Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable individuals is beneficial
- Caring, patient, and adaptable approach
- Excellent communication skills
- Passion for supporting young learners
- Understanding of safeguarding procedures
- Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply
