Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 PA

leader Group is proud to be partnering with a renowned Therapeutic Education Service provider to recruit a passionate SEND Teacher. We currently have an outstanding opportunity available in one of our SEN Schools based in Stockport.

About The Role

To specialise in leading and delivering core subjects up to GCSE for KS3 and KS4 aged pupils with ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) and additional needs.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher with experience teaching pupils with ASC and additional behavioural needs to join a specialist team within a new school opening in September 2026. As part of a nurturing and innovative team, responsibilities will include:

  • Teaching and supporting students with a range of special educational needs (SEN.
  • Teaching pupils aged KS3 and KS4.
  • Developing and implementing engaging and differentiated lesson plans that meet the diverse academic and emotional needs of students with SEN.
  • Adapting teaching strategies, materials, and resources to accommodate individual learning styles and abilities.
  • Integrating social and emotional learning (SEL) into the curriculum to support students’ emotional regulation, resilience, and interpersonal skills.
  • Providing constructive feedback to students to enhance their learning experience.
  • Documenting and maintaining accurate records of students’ achievements, interventions, and progress towards goals.
  • Establishing clear expectations for behaviour and creating a structured and supportive classroom environment.
  • Collaborating with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other professionals to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) or behaviour support plans for students.

We are seeking someone who is:

  • Passionate about working with students with SEND needs.
  • Essential specialism in teaching English.
  • Experienced – ideally with at least 2 years in a SEND environment or similar setting supporting pupils with ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) and additional needs. Including mainstream schools.
  • Qualified – QTS is essential.
  • Understands EHCPs and autism-informed practice.
  • Calm, organised and passionate about teaching and making a difference.
