Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate qualified teacher to support students part-time at a resource base in east Bristol. This primary school has a high SEND cohort, including children with learning difficulties, ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition), ADHD, and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) challenges. Many of the pupils have behavioural needs which require a calm, confident, and consistent approach. This would be a maternity cover role, with the possibility of extension. This position is best suited to someone who is highly proactive, comfortable with setting boundaries, and able to remain composed in challenging situations.
Main Responsibilities
- Deliver creative and differentiated classes to small groups of students with high needs
- Use de-escalation strategies and consistent boundaries to manage challenging behaviour
- Work closely with other staff and the SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to implement behaviour plans and support strategies
- Support pupils during unstructured times such as breaks and lunch to ensure safety and inclusion

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
