SEND Teaching Assistant
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Islington is looking to appoint a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.
This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to help pupils achieve their full potential in a positive and inclusive learning environment.
The Successful Candidate Will
- Have previous experience supporting pupils with SEND within a primary school setting
- Have experience working with children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH, or other additional learning needs
- Be confident providing 1:1 and small group interventions
- Be patient, nurturing, and resilient, with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- Have excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Be committed to promoting inclusion and supporting pupils' academic, social, and emotional development
The Role Will Involve
- Supporting pupils with additional needs both in and out of the classroom
- Delivering targeted interventions and implementing EHCP targets
- Encouraging pupils' independence, confidence, and engagement in learning
- Supporting positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
- Working collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, parents, and external professionals where appropriate
- Assisting with classroom preparation and adapting learning resources to meet individual needs

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
