SEND Teaching Assistant – SEMH Specialist

£115 per day
Start date: September 2026
Contract type: Temp – perm following 12 weeks successful temporary placement
Working hours: Monday – Friday, term time only
Unique School Solutions are supporting a school in the S66 area of Rotherham who are needing specialist teaching assistants to work in KS2 and KS3.
You will be working with small groups of students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, alongside a range of associated conditions. The role will be working alongside another teaching assistant within the classroom under the direction of the teacher.
The role is to start in September 2026 and for the right person could lead to a permanent job after 12 weeks.

Essential Requirements For The Role
- Previous experience working with children or adults with Special Educational Needs
- Patience, resilience and empathy
- The ability to build rapport with young learners
- The ability to work under the direction of the class teacher as well as using own initiative
- Experience with Phonics is advantageous.
