SEND Teaching Assistant

Location: North Somerset

Salary: £93 - £110 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

Start Date: September 2026

About The Role

Connex Education is recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistants to work within a specialist educational setting in North Somerset from September 2026.

We are looking for individuals interested in a mixture of flexible day-to-day supply work, short-term placements and long-term opportunities, supporting children and young people with additional needs.

The setting supports pupils aged approximately 4 to 19 years old with a range of complex learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), communication needs, sensory processing difficulties, and associated medical needs.

This is a highly rewarding role where you will play a key part in helping pupils access education, develop independence, and achieve their individual goals within a nurturing and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups throughout the school day
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities
  • Support pupils with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
  • Encourage independence and promote positive learning behaviours
  • Assist with personal care where required, following appropriate training and guidance
  • Adapt support strategies to meet individual learning and developmental needs
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support professionals
  • Help create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
