Job Description
Five Education is an independent education agency specialising in SEND. We are currently recruiting for a full-time Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist school in Salisbury.
This is an excellent opportunity to support children and young people with a range of additional needs in a dedicated and supportive environment.
The Role
You will be working within a special school setting, supporting students with a variety of special educational needs, which may include autism, learning difficulties, complex needs, and communication challenges.
Working under the guidance of the class teacher, you will play a key role in helping students access learning, develop independence, and build confidence in a structured and nurturing environment.
The role may involve a combination of 1:1 and small group support, depending on the needs of the students.
No prior experience is required, as full training and ongoing support will be provided. We are looking for individuals who are patient, proactive, resilient, and confident in supporting students with additional needs and, at times, challenging behaviour.
It is a full-time position, Monday to Friday (term time only, and working hours are 8:30am – 3:30pm. The pay is dependent on experience but up to £92.59 per day (inclusive of holiday pay) for 6.5 hours of work.
Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old
- Right to work in the UK
- Ability to provide relevant references and complete DBS/police checks (support can be provided)*

Key Responsibilities
- Support students in accessing learning activities tailored to their individual needs
- Assist in the delivery of lessons in a way that is engaging and accessible
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Support the development of communication, social, and life skills
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times
- Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff

Pay
Five Education operates a PAYE payroll; this is the most transparent way to be paid with no hidden fees such as admin fee or employer's NI. Please note pay rate is for illustration and does include holiday pay.
