Are you a determined STEM graduate looking to gain specialist SEND experience as a STEM SEND Teaching Assistant while making a genuine difference to young people's lives?

A highly regarded secondary school in Barnet is seeking an ambitious STEM SEND Teaching Assistant to join its specialist provision from September 2026. As a STEM SEND Teaching Assistant, you will support autistic students across Maths and Science, helping them access the curriculum, develop confidence in their abilities, and achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally.

STEM SEND Teaching Assistant | The Role

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for students with ASC and PDA.
  • Deliver targeted Maths and Science interventions to boost attainment and confidence.
  • Adapt learning strategies to maximise student engagement and progress.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and SEND specialists to support student success.

STEM SEND Teaching Assistant | Requirements

  • A degree in a STEM-related subject from a leading university.
  • Strong A-Level results, ideally A* or A in Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or a related STEM discipline.
  • A genuine interest in autism, neurodiversity, and SEND.
  • Patient, kind, and emotionally intelligent, with a calm and nurturing approach.
