Job Title: SEND Team Lead

Location: Highbury and Campus

Salary: £23,272.51 - £26,569.45 Actual Salary, £26,494.86 - 30,248.30 Full Time Equivalent per annum

Hours of work: 32.5 Hours per week, 52 Weeks per year, Part-Time, Permanent

About the role:

Reporting to the Head of Learning Support and Inclusion, the SEND Team Leader will be responsible for the whole support package for EHCP learners to ensure the college are meeting all the required learners’ support needs by offering a high-quality innovative support package to our learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To be fully responsible for a cohort of EHCP learners
  • To line manage a cohort of Learning Assistants
  • To ensure that all individual team members personal work complies with college standards and is carried out properly, effectively and within deadlines
  • To lead through your duties and position to be a role model for best practices and standards for your team
  • Deliver the line manager element of inductions and where appropriate any role specific training
  • Identify individual training and development needs and implement where required
  • To contribute to a responsive and relevant curriculum SEND offer
  • To lead on the quality of a range of specialist interventions across EHCP learners as identified by their EHCP requirements
  • To manage Educational Health Care Plan requirements and complete Annual Reviews
  • To support parents through EHCP process
  • Work with others to ensure the accuracy and reliability of college information systems
  • To lead on a particular Learning Support process
  • To work closely with learning areas to ensure teaching staff are being given the required information to be able to support EHCP learners
  • Undertake exam assessments throughout the year
  • Attend and/or organise meetings and events with students, colleagues, parents or representatives of outside bodies and institutions as necessary to the above duties
  • Contribute to the process of self-assessment within the Learning Support area and on a college-wide basis

To be successful in this role, below is what we would need from you:

  • SEN Qualification
  • Specialist experience in at least one of the following: ELSA, Speech & Language, Dyslexia, Mental Health, Behaviour Management, Dyscalculia
  • Excellent SEND knowledge
  • Experience of working in a learning support capacity
  • An absolute commitment to student success and progression and an understanding of how it may be achieved and contribute to quality assurance
  • Computer Literate
