We are currently seeking a Tutor to join our dedicated team at our Boscombe Centre, Bournemouth.
This role would be ideal for someone with a background in youth work who is looking to progress into teaching or specialist education. We are seeking an enthusiastic and engaging individual who can inspire young adults with SEND, build positive relationships and create meaningful learning experiences that help learners achieve their goals and prepare for future education, employment and independent living.

Job Description
Main Responsibilities:
- Prepare course/training materials
- Complete external paperwork as required in a timely manner
- Maintain the quality of the learner programme to a sufficient standard to pass IQA and EQA criteria
- Complete learner and deliver paperwork as required promptly
- Deliver engaging sessions including wellbeing awareness
- Attend business networking events to promote the activities of SWRAC
- Support learners with LDD/SEND in a variety of classroom settings
- Work closely with team members to ensure that ILP targets are monitored and reviewed
- Be aware of individual learners’ risk assessments and needs
- Encourage independence and self-help skills wherever possible
- Undertake any other duties that are reasonably requested by management and are appropriate to the role.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Recognised teaching qualification preferable, however will consider those with experience in Youth Work looking to undertake teaching qualifications.
- Level 2 Maths & English (or equivalent/ GCSE level 4) - Essential
- Experience of working with young adults who have SEND/behavioural difficulties
- Understanding of relevant polices /codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation

- Good communication and calculation skills

- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Good organisational skills
- Effectively supervise students both in college and outside the centre, adhering to the behaviour policy.
- Ability to manage challenging situations and a demanding working environment
- Be competent in IT
- Ability to work in partnership with parents/carers and teachers
- Ability to use own initiative and work flexibility
- Ability to support learners with a range of emotional and behavioural difficulties.
- Innovative thinker with the ability to adapt teaching and support strategies.
- Ability to prioritise workload.

Knowledge
- Ability to relate well to vulnerable young adults
- Understanding of behaviour management strategies
- Understanding of working with young adults who have SEND/behavioural difficulties

- General understanding of curriculum and other basic learning programmes/strategies

Experience
- Working with vulnerable young people with learning disabilities or challenging emotional and behavioural difficulties
- Experience of working with challenging young people in an educational establishment
- Experience of Youth Work
