Job Description
We are currently seeking a SEND Tutor to join our dedicated team at our Widnes Centre. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of SEND, a flexible and learner-centred approach, and a genuine commitment to inclusive education.

Job Description
- Prepare course/training materials
- Complete external paperwork as required in a timely manner
- Maintain the quality of the learner programme to a sufficient standard to pass IQA and EQA criteria
- Complete learner and deliver paperwork as required promptly
- Deliver engaging sessions including wellbeing awareness
- To attend business networking events to promote the activities of SWRAC
- To support learners with LDD/SEND in a variety of classroom settings
- To work closely with team members to ensure that ILP targets are monitored and reviewed
- To be aware of individual learners’ risk assessments and needs
- Encourage independence and self-help skills wherever possible
- To undertake any other duties that are reasonably requested by management and are appropriate to the role.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential:
- Recognised teaching qualification
- Level 2 Maths & English (or equivalent/ GCSE level 4)
- Experience of working with young adults who have SEND/behavioural difficulties
- Understanding of relevant policies /codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation

- Good communication and calculation skills

- Effectively supervise students both in college and outside the centre, adhering to the behaviour policy.

Experience
- Working with vulnerable young people with learning disabilities or challenging emotional and behavioural difficulties
- Experience of working with challenging young people in an educational establishment

- Prepared to work flexibly to meet work requirements.
