Assistant Headteacher: Head of Inclusion (SENCo)

Reeson Education is supporting a highly successful and oversubscribed secondary school in the appointment of an exceptional Assistant Headteacher: Head of Inclusion (SENCo).
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and experienced SEND leader to join a strong Senior Leadership Team and play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of inclusion across the school.
The school has built a reputation for high standards, excellent student outcomes, and a culture of ambition, belonging, and opportunity for all. The successful candidate will lead an established Inclusion team and drive outstanding provision for students with additional needs, ensuring that every learner is able to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic development of SEND and Inclusion across the school
- Be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team
- Manage and develop the Inclusion department and support staff team
- Oversee SEND provision, EHCP processes, and statutory compliance
- Work closely with teachers, parents, external agencies, and senior leaders
- Promote high-quality inclusive teaching and learning across the curriculum
- Monitor and improve outcomes, attendance, behaviour, and wellbeing for SEND students
- Contribute to whole-school improvement planning and leadership

Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Successful leadership experience within SEND and Inclusion
- Excellent knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
- Experience of leading and managing staff
- Strong understanding of inclusive practice and whole-school improvement
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A commitment to raising achievement and removing barriers to learning
- National SENCo Award or willingness to complete the qualification
