Senior Leader – SENDCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)
About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an exceptional SENDCo to join our Hindhead Campus on a full-time, permanent basis.
This forward-thinking, highly motivated, and inspirational role is ideal for a practitioner committed to ensuring the highest standards of care, learning, and achievement for all **students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
The successful candidate will be a strategic leader with a clear vision for outstanding SEND provision, fully aligned with OneSchool Global’s Student Support policy.
Ideal for an experienced professional with:
- Substantial experience in supporting students with a wide range of needs, including:
- Autism and social communication differences
- Physical disabilities
- Dyslexia and other Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs)
- Students significantly behind age-related expectations
- Experience designing bespoke, personalised curricula
- A proven track record of raising attainment through effective provision and high expectations

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities centre around:
- Strategic leadership of the SEND department and campus-level SEND provision
- Vision shaping to ensureición to the highest standards of support for students with varied needs
- Personalised learning design for students requiring significantly adapted curricula
- Leadership of a trained team to support high-quality SEND practice
- Professional development for teaching staff, including mentor support tailored to students’ needs
- Collaborative engagement with external professionals—expanding the faculty’s understanding of neurodiversity-related approaches
- Monitoring of school policies and regulations for student well-being and academic progress
- Observation of lessons to provide expert guidance on inclusive teaching
Requirements & Qualifications
Preferred experience and qualifications include:
- Broad expertise in supporting students with autism, social communication needs, ADHD, physical disabilities, dyslexia, and other SEND-related difficulties
- Knowledge in working with students across multiple Key Stages (including primary and secondary)
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with at least three years’ experience within mainstream or SEND settings
- NASENCO (National Award for SEN Coordination) or NPQSENCO qualification
- Proof of strong leadership in managing a team of teaching assistants (e.g., co-ordination, mentoring, fostering high-quality practice)
- Track record of planning, delivering, and tracking the impact of targeted interventions
- In-depth knowledge in Access Arrangements, including:
- Assessment processes
- Evidence gathering
- Liaison with external agencies (if applicable)
- Exceptional inclusive teaching skills, modelling effective practice for colleagues
- A commitment to high expectations and improved attainment for students with SEND
