Business Development Manager (ABL)
Aldermore Group – why we exist
Let Us Tell You a Bit About Us
We’re Aldermore – the award-winning bank, trusted by over a quarter of a million customers. With specialist mortgages, savings and business finance solutions, we’re backing more people to go for it.
We champion entrepreneurial spirit, support first-time buyers, open up the lending market, and power thousands of vehicle purchases through MotoNovo Finance every week.
This is where you come in. We’re on a journey to deliver on our purpose — backing more people to go for it, in life and business.
Let Us Tell You a Bit About The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Business Development Manager to help grow our Asset Based Lending (ABL) offering, working with businesses across the UK who need flexible working capital solutions. This is an exciting role right at the heart of driving growth in the SME market.
You won’t just be managing accounts — you’ll be originating and shaping complex, high-value ABL transactions (£0.5m–£50m), building long-term introducer partnerships, and representing Aldermore in a competitive marketplace. With real autonomy in a field-based role and exposure to senior stakeholders, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a visible impact in a specialist lending environment.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
