The Opportunity
A rare opening has arisen following the planned retirement of a long-serving and highly regarded Account Director at one of the markets leading insurance broking groups. You will be supported by one of the most dynamic commercial broking teams in the market, with access to specialist resource across the wider group.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage and develop an established client portfolio, delivering expert risk advice and outstanding service
- Lead the renewal process end-to-end, including market negotiations and client presentations
- Identify organic growth opportunities within the existing book and cross-refer into specialist teams
- Act as a trusted risk adviser at senior/board level across a broad range of commercial lines
- Collaborate with internal specialists on complex, bespoke, and international placements
- Ensure full FCA regulatory compliance and maintain the business’s high governance standards

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
