Account Director
SALARY: £75k base, plus commission, £100k OTE (uncapped)
LOCATION: Basingstoke (Hybrid)
Join award-winning UK channel marketing agency ResourceiT in a pivotal client retention and growth role. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be working with technology vendors, distributors, and channel partners, within a blended territory of new business and existing client accounts. You will combine energy, commercial acumen, sales expertise, and strong marketing knowledge to uncover opportunities, develop strategic solutions, and drive measurable business outcomes for clients.
As a trusted advisor, you will draw on your technology sector experience and understanding of agency-based marketing to help clients address business challenges through creative go-to-market strategies and demand generation campaigns. You'll be confident engaging senior stakeholders, inspiring confidence in your ideas, and translating opportunities into long-term partnerships that deliver client success and sustainable growth for ResourceiT.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development & Revenue Growth
- Achieve individual sales and profitability targets in line with company objectives
- Build, manage, and convert a strong pipeline of new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, and marketing-generated leads
- Create, lead, and respond to proposals, pitches, and RFP submissions within your assigned territory
- Negotiate programme scope, pricing, and commercial terms to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes
- Drive account expansion by identifying follow-on opportunities to create recurring revenues
Account Management & Client Relationships
- Develop and nurture relationships with a defined portfolio of existing accounts to uncover new opportunities
- Build trusted relationships with stakeholders across sales, marketing, leadership, and technical functions within client organisations
- Lead client meetings, presentations, and business reviews, taking ownership of actions and outcomes

Strategic Marketing Consultancy
- Provide strategic marketing guidance and consultancy, including workshops, planning sessions, campaign development, value proposition creation, and go-to-market programme support
- Monitor campaign performance, recommend optimisation strategies, and identify opportunities for growth and reinvestment
Programme Delivery & Operational Management
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the successful onboarding and delivery of new client engagements
- Manage lead and/or influence internal and external resources to ensure programmes are delivered on time, within budget, and to client expectations
- Support Client Services in tracking budgets, programme performance, and profitability while maintaining accurate CRM and commercial records
Client Advocacy & Brand Development
- Support the development of customer success stories, testimonials, and case studies.
- Act as a visible advocate for ResourceiT through networking, social selling, and industry engagement
REQUIRED SKILLS
Commercial & Relationship Management
- A natural, commercially driven relationship manager with the ability to build, develop, and maintain trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, from CEO and Managing Director level through to Sales and Marketing leadership
- Comfortable leading commercial conversations and influencing decisions at a senior level, both internally and externally
- Target-driven and self-sufficient, with the ability to generate business through networking, social selling, and the effective conversion of marketing-generated leads
- Excellent communication, presentation, and networking skills, both written and verbal
Strategic Thinking & Client Consultancy
- Creatively minded, able to ask intelligent questions, listen carefully, and develop ideas and insights that address client challenges and exceed expectations
- Confident thinking on your feet, making sound decisions, and bold recommendations to achieve the best client outcomes
- Passionate about technology, with a strong understanding of the IT and channel ecosystem and a commitment to staying current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and market developments
- Uses market and industry insight to identify opportunities for business improvement and contribute to the development of internal teams

Industry Experience & Knowledge
- Minimum of five years’ experience within the IT channel and technology marketing sectors, preferably including agency experience
- Strong understanding of channel marketing, go-to-market strategies, partner ecosystems, and demand generation programmes
Programme & Commercial Management
- Highly organised with the ability to manage, track, and report on programme progress, budgets, and performance at a detailed level
- Able to remain close to delivery, effectively brief internal teams, and ensure projects achieve agreed objectives and commercial targets

- Hybrid working (3 days per week in stunning, air-conditioned offices in Chineham Park)
