Job Overview

Part of Gallagher’s National Retail, Leisure, and Hospitality Practice, this Senior Account Executive (SAE) role is pivotal for delivering exceptional client service and driving strategic growth across our specialist sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Representation & Client Proposal: Serve as a trusted strategic partner for Corporate and Mid-Corporate UK & International clients, crafting niche expertise-driven insurance and risk management solutions tailored to their unique challenges.
  • Market Leadership: Based in Ipswich, you’ll lead a team delivering market-leading insurance programmes and placements, supported by a doubly digit growth tracker, robust governance, and a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
  • Reputation & Commitment: Join a high-performance team with a proven track record, investing in individuals and empowering high-level achievement.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

Core Skills & Expertise

  • Proven track record in Senior Account Executive roles within relevant markets.
  • Developed industry expertise and networks in insurance and Risk Management.
  • Deep knowledge of:
    • Insurance products, markets, and specialised placement strategies
    • Managing and growing complex, high-value client accounts
  • Demonstrated capability in:
    • Relationship growth and exceptional client retention rates
    • Advanced negotiation and influencing techniques
  • Strong grasp of:
    • Compliance and regulatory frameworks
    • Risk management practices
  • Leadership and mentorship experience, driven by team development and high-performance culture.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK, with travel flexibility as required.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Client Relationship Management

  • Develop and manage high-value client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Conduction in-depth analyses to forecast future needs and deliver custom, innovative solutions.
  • Participate and oversee client reviews to ensure satisfaction and continuous improvement.

Renewal & Policy Management

  • Oversee full renewal processes from strategy to implementation.
  • Present and justify terms and solutions aligned with client objectives and business outcomes.
  • Mentor Account Executives in complex queries, ensuring technical excellence.

Business Development & Growth

  • Identify and develop high-value business opportunities in collaboration with internal/external teams.
  • Drive cross-sector expansion and revenue growth via strategic planning and execution.
  • Host workshops and strategy sessions, leveraging internal and external expertise.

Insurance Solutions & Risk Management

  • Offer expert advice across diverse products and risk strategies.
  • Co-develop proactive risk frameworks with clients linked to their long-term objectives.

Operational Leadership & Excellence

  • Champion compliance, regulatory adherence, and due diligence.
  • Proactively resolve escalated issues, including debt management, equally tactical and strategic.
  • Monitor market/regulatory trends, providing ahead-of-industry solutions and insights.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Mentor colleagues, fostering a collaborative high-performance culture.
  • Share expertise and strategically develop team capabilities aligned with broader goals.
