As a Senior Account Executive – AI Startups & Scaleups (UK), you will identify, engage, and grow relationships with some of the UK's most exciting high-growth companies, from emerging startups to future unicorns. You'll be responsible for landing net-new customers, driving Azure and AI adoption, and partnering with founders, CTOs, and executive leadership teams to accelerate their growth on Microsoft technology.

This role sits within one of Microsoft's fastest-growing businesses, focused on supporting emerging startups, scaleups, and future unicorns. You'll operate in an entrepreneurial environment, combining the agility of a startup with the scale, resources, and global reach of Microsoft.

Responsibilities

The Senior Account Executive – AI Startups & Scaleups (UK) is leading and orchestrating the One Microsoft team efforts to drive ambitious growth and wins, with start-ups and unicorns, on the Microsoft Cloud Platform. This senior role will partner closely with resources in the Digital Natives Organization, Engineering, Marketing, Finance and Legal, Business Desk, and other groups across Microsoft.

The collective responsibility of the AI Startups and Scaleups team is:

  • Leading and shaping the future of high potential startups and unicorns based on locally set selection criteria. Assessing external data identifying those startups and unicorns, qualifying them based on current status, scores, cost of complexity and acquisition as well as internal Microsoft relationship and relevance (any upcoming ISV that can scale and go big)
  • Engaging with this segment to prioritize the right motion for a potential unicorn WIN (either through projects on Azure at the start, strategic partnership with commitment, or exclusivity on a specific workload)
  • Building strategic partnerships at the right time, with those unicorns to accelerate their growth and build new solutions
  • Envisioning new industry scenarios and business models with the unicorns
  • Driving technical alignment with the v-technical team across segments (CSU, STU, GBBs, Engineering, CSE)
  • Customer Advocate – Develops and oversees the execution of account plan(s) to ensure Microsoft revenue targets and customer outcomes are met. Advocates on behalf of the customer internally, ensuring requests and needs of assigned accounts are being addressed.
  • Deliver Sales Excellence – Leads and orchestrates extended virtual teams across our solution areas to consistently achieve growth in revenue & market share.
  • Industry Knowledge – Builds and maintains a strong knowledge of customers’ industry, associated business strategy, and key industry partners and solutions. Gains deeper insights and knowledge through direct engagement in their customers’ business and operations.

Qualifications

  • Experience selling into VC-backed startups / scaleups
  • Track record of: Landing net-new logos; Driving strategic cloud or platform deals
  • Understanding of: AI/ML workloads; Startup funding cycles; Growth-stage company challenges
  • A background of consistently delivering results in account management/sales experience OR equivalent
  • Comfort with doing Business Development in the Digital Natives, Start-ups & Scale-ups space

Account Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across United Kingdom is £ 95,300.00 - £ 136,100.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
