Senior Account Manager

Senior Sales Account Manager – Children’s Wear Business

Helping a highly successful Childrenwear business expand its reach, we’re looking for an experienced Senior Sales Account Manager to focus on Primark and other key retail partners.


About the Role

This is a critical role in our sales department, ensuring growth through strategic account management and commercial collaborations.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Building & managing relationships: Partnering with Buyers and deepening ties with existing suppliers while expanding our network.
  • Driving sales performance: Hitting targets, optimising open-to-buy strategies, and fostering high-margin commercial growth.
  • Collaboration with design: Working closely with our in-house design team to develop product ranges that balance affordability and appeal.
  • Primark focus: Personal experience and network in Primark retail accounts is essential.
  • Licensing (bonus): If you have experience in licensed product development, you’ll be an excellent fit.

Key Responsibilities

Account & Customer Management

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with suppliers, buyers, and major UK retailers.
  • Develop and execute account strategies to meet sales and gross margin targets.
  • Organise regular meetings across the UK, with both new and existing customers, to maximise opportunities.
  • Identify new business prospects, including to buy opportunities and product expansions.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with factories and buyers.
  • Raise and track orders via GS, ensuring smooth order processing.

Sales & Forecasting Leadership

  • Prepare monthly sales forecasts and performance reviews using GS.
  • Report annually to the Divisional Sales Director on:
    • Account status (best/worst sellers, new sales, cancellations, strategies).
    • Top manufactures & suppliers for assessment.

Design & Production Liaison

  • Lead handover meetings with design and production teams.
  • Share seasonal key messages (trends, best/worst sellers, licensing insights, budget plans).
  • Align with design on budgets, new licenses, and emerging opportunities.
  • Represent the business at licensing trade shows alongside retail partners.

Market & Competitor Focus

  • Conduct market research to track industry trends and competitors.
  • Ensure suppliers and customers receive accurate, timely information on costings and production.

Operational Coordination

  • Liaise with Merchandisers on order administration and timelines.

Requirements & Essential Skills

  • Proven sales expertise: Strong ability to comprehend client needs and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Primark experience: Must be skilled at managing high-volume, commercial retail accounts.
  • Licensing knowledge: Experience in licensed product development is highly valued.
  • Retail savvy: Successfully worked with UK High Street retailer giants (e.g., Primark, Tesco, H&M).
  • Customer service excellence: Commitment to consistently high standards and client satisfaction.
  • Multitasking & time management: Ability to handle multiple projects同时 while meeting deadlines.
  • Relationship building: Experience developing both factories and supplier partnerships.

Bonus

  • Prior Primark account experience is critical.
  • License department exposure enhances hireability.
