About us
SALT is an independent communications studio focused on storytelling for great design. We collaborate with architects, design studios, and product designers worldwide who prioritise sustainable design, progressive studio environments, and people-centred practices.
The Role
We’re seeking a Senior Account Manager to join our Hoxton studio (4.5 days per week). This position is within the salary range of £35,000–£45,000 annually, reflecting our commitment to nurturing growth within a dynamic young business.
As a client and industry-facing leader, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping client relationships, service excellence, and SALT’s reputation in the architecture and design sectors. This is a middle leadership position, blending account management, team influence, and business development.
Key Responsibilities
Client & Industry Relations
- Represent SALT professionally at events, client meetings, and industry gatherings to build credibility and relationships
- Foster client retention through consistent engagement and exceptional service standards
- Collaboratively network to expand SALT’s brand visibility and collaborator network
Account Management & Strategy
- Manage client accounts, including regular meetings/calls, performance updates, and service delivery
- Report monthly progress to the Founding Director on account performance and team output
- Develop and refine processes, systems, and workflows across the team for efficiency
- Lead press strategies for both one-off and retainer campaigns, managing media matrices and journalist outreach

New Business & Media Outreach
- Secure long-lead and tier-1 print coverage for high-profile campaigns
- Proactively scout new clients and support directors in progressing opportunities
- Cultivate relationships with journalists, photographers, and industry stakeholders
Content & Team Support
- Write press releases, awards submissions, and thought leadership content tailored to clients’ audiences
- Guide junior coordinators in executing assignments while maintaining high standards
- Ensure collaboration across press relations, clients, shooting partners, and team members
Leadership & Culture
- Set and uphold SALT’s culture of kind, agile, and innovative work
- Contribute to studio morale while driving performance and creativity
Requirements
Experience & Expertise
- Minimum 4 years in a PR agency, specialising in architecture, design, or built environment industries
- A salient media network within architecture, interiors, and product sectors
- Degree in a related field (media, communications, marketing, journalism, or equivalent)

- Strong research and negotiation abilities to identify and secure opportunities
- Adaptable tone that aligns with varying client content requirements
- Unmatched organisation, able to prioritise, project-manage, and meet tight deadlines
- Collaborative and proactive mindset to drive workflows and projects forward
- Proficient in:

About the Work
- Reports to the Founding Director
- Based in London (Hoxton studio), with a minimum 4 days in-office (flexibility for hybrid work)
- Involvement in national and international travel for client events, site tours, and design exhibitions
- Studio hours: 9am–5.30pm (Mon–Thurs); 9am–1pm (Fri)
