Senior Account Manager
Senior Account Manager
Salary: £45,000-£53,000 + Pool car + bonus Location: Sheffield
Are you looking for a role in sales with experience in the metal or manufacturing industry? Do you have ambitions to develop leadership and people management skills? If so, this role could be ideal for you!
Responsibilities
- Grow revenue across existing accounts while identifying and securing new business opportunities
- Travel frequently across the UK and Europe to visit clients, represent the company at industry exhibitions, and events (approximately once every 2 months)
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to foster long-term growth and uncover additional commercial opportunities
- Create tailored proposals and quotations by reviewing customer requirements and pricing details
- Regularly engage with existing and prospective customers, including supporting colleagues during client visits and presentations
- Collaborate with the Sales Manager on territory planning, customer engagement strategies, and stock planning requirements
- Ensure CRM records are accurately updated to track customer activity, pipeline progress, market trends, and future opportunities
- Oversee the quotation and order process, ensuring all documentation is completed correctly and promptly
- Share insights on competitor activity, market trends, pricing movements, and potential growth areas with the wider team
- Assist with sales forecasting and provide additional support to the Sales Manager where needed
- Encourage team performance and contribute to achieving collective objectives

Requirements
- Previous experience within metals, engineering, industrial, or manufacturing sectors is highly beneficial
- Proven track record of developing strong customer relationships and consistently growing revenue across existing and new accounts
- Confidence in building long-term business partnerships, with a personable approach and willingness to travel
- Eagerness to take the next step in career development, with aspirations to develop leadership and people management skills
- Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative sales environment and enjoys setting and achieving targets
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with a customer-first mindset
- Highly proactive attitude, with a commercial mindset and keen interest in continuous professional development
- Self-motivated, confident, and able to positively influence both customers and colleagues
- Additional language skills—particularly French or German—would be advantageous, though not essential
