Senior Mako Account Manager – Capital Sales
Position Description
- Develops and maintains outstanding relationships with prospective and installed base customers, leveraging these connections to drive recurrent sales cycles for the company’s products.
- Cultivates new sales opportunities in collaboration with the Mako Sales Director and effectively manages leads generated by the company.
- Leads cross-functional teams in executing the sales cycle, as well as post-sale installation and training activities at customer sites.
- Demonstrated ability to manage capital sales cycles for products priced at greater than $1,000,000.
- Partners with marketing and sales management to develop strategies and selling tools that enhance selling effectiveness.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate and achieve sales through both budgeted and off-budget processes.

Departmental Responsibilities
- Provides consistent and timely reporting of key account activities, forecasts, and other required deliverables.
- Leads cross-functional team members who support selling and post-sale activities at customer accounts.
- Attends sales training meetings, trade shows, and other events to promote visibility of the company’s products.

Job Requirements
Qualifications
- BA/BSc degree with a minimum of 5 years demonstrated achievement in Surgical or Medical capital equipment sales.
- Ability to interact intelligently and credibly with surgeons and allied healthcare professionals.
- Proven ability to translate clinical benefits of products into economic value for healthcare providers, with comfort in financial-based selling tools.
- Surgical orthopedics experience highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large territories.
- Outstanding presentation and communication skills—required for both verbal and written interactions.
- 75% travel required.
- Executive selling experience (CEO, CFO, or COO interactions with hospitals preferred).
- Understanding of the financial operations of hospitals.
