A bit about the role

This role reports to: Head of New Business

Through Bett and our wider EdTech portfolio, we play a pivotal role in improving education globally. Our events bring together educators, innovators and policymakers to share ideas, shape policy and accelerate the adoption of technology that improves learning outcomes.

We are seeking an Account Manager to drive new business for Bett UK with a focus on growing market share through exhibition and sponsorship sales.

As part of your job, you will:

  • Position Bett as the world's leading EdTech platform and a must-attend event for educators, innovators and policymakers
  • Represent the Bett portfolio with credibility, energy and commercial confidence
  • Apply value-based selling and challenger sales techniques to create customer value
  • Develop deep market knowledge, sharing insight internally and with customers
  • Execute targeted sales plans to win high-value customers
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders through industry engagement and networking

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate new business revenue across exhibition, sponsorship and digital products
  • Prospect, qualify and convert new opportunities through outbound activity, networking, referrals and marketing-generated leads
  • Understand customer objectives and develop commercially compelling solutions
  • Build relationships with key decision-makers to secure new business and maximise deal value
  • Upsell newly acquired customers throughout the event cycle before handing over to the retention team
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasting and pipeline management
  • Meet sales targets and maintain accurate forecasting
  • Represent Bett at customer meetings and industry events
  • Travel as required to support client meetings, events and wider business needs

Here’s what we’re looking for from you:

  • Demonstrable success in a new business sales or business development role, consistently achieving or exceeding commercial targets
  • Confident and adaptable across telephone, virtual and face-to-face sales
  • Proven experience selling EdTech, events, conferences or digital solutions with a consultative or value-based sales approach
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • Commercially and strategically minded with the ability to identify revenue opportunities and generate new ideas to deliver revenue growth
  • Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills to support customer acquisition
  • Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills, including presenting information to a range of stakeholders
  • Highly motivated by targets, KPIs and commercial performance
  • Self-motivated, resilient and adaptable with a positive mindset
  • Collaborative team player

  • Naturally curious and commercially driven, with a passion for winning new business
  • A resilient self-starter who enjoys opening doors and creating opportunities
  • A persuasive value-based seller who builds credibility quickly
