Senior Account Manager – IT Sales
Location: Sheffield
Job Type: Full-time
Job Summary
The Senior Account Manager in IT Sales is responsible for leading strategic client relationships, driving revenue growth, and mentoring junior sales staff. This role demands a deep understanding of IT solutions, strong commercial instincts, and the ability to manage complex sales cycles across multiple sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Client Management
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Understand client business goals and align IT solutions to meet strategic objectives.
- Act as a trusted advisor, providing insights and recommendations on technology trends.
- Sales Leadership & Growth
- Develop and execute account strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets.
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within existing accounts and new prospects.
- Lead negotiations and close high-value deals.
- Achieve and exceed sales targets and KPIs
- Team Collaboration & Mentorship
- Mentor and support junior account managers and sales representatives.
- Collaborate with technical, marketing, and delivery teams to ensure client satisfaction.
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts to deliver seamless solutions.
- Reporting & Forecasting
- Track and report on key account metrics (e.g., quarterly sales results, forecasts).
- Prepare strategic account plans and present to senior leadership.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform sales strategy.
- Client Advocacy & Problem Solving
- Resolve complex client issues and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Propose new tools, processes, or services to improve client outcomes.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in IT sales or account management, with a proven track record.
- Strong understanding of IT products and services (e.g., cloud, cybersecurity, infrastructure).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage large account portfolios and complex sales cycles.

Preferred Attributes
- Experience working with enterprise clients across public and private sectors.
- Certifications in IT sales or vendor technologies (e.g., AWS, Microsoft, Cisco).
- Strategic thinker with a proactive and results-driven mindset.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, target-driven environments.
- Ability to travel to client sites (note: driving may be required depending on territory).
