Senior Accountant
£45,000 - £55,000 - Clear Progression - Growing Accountancy Practice
Looking for more responsibility, greater variety and a genuine opportunity to influence the future of a growing firm?
We're working with a rapidly expanding independent accountancy practice that's built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality advice to owner-managed businesses. As the firm continues to grow, they're looking to appoint an experienced Senior Accountant to play a key role in managing client relationships, delivering technical work and supporting the development of the wider team.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys the variety of general practice and wants to be part of a business where your ideas are valued, your contribution is recognised and progression is based on ability rather than hierarchy.
The Role
As a Senior Accountant, you'll manage a varied portfolio of clients across multiple sectors, acting as their trusted adviser while delivering a broad range of accounting and tax services. You'll work closely with the Partners, taking ownership of client relationships and helping to support the firm's continued growth.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
