Senior Accountant – Group Reporting
Location: London, UK
Energean is a leading independent, London-listed FTSE 250 exploration and production (E&P) company with operations across Europe, the Mediterranean, the Middle East, Africa, and a strong focus on driving energy security through its diversified portfolio. A full-cycle upstream operator with over 18 years of experience, Energean holds approximately 1 billion boe of 2P reserves and boasts an 81% gas-weighted outlook.
About the Role
The Group Reporting team is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its London-based team. This role supports consolidated financial reporting, accommodates complex accounting under IFRS standards, and collaborates with international finance teams and external auditors. This is an impactful opportunity with exposure to strategic financial reporting across Energean’s far-reaching operations, including key projects like Karish, Irena, Katlan, and West Africa expansions.
Responsibilities
Group Reporting & Consolidation
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual group reporting processes.
- Review submissions from international finance teams, ensuring alignment with group accounting policies.
- Execute consolidation processes and reconciliations.

Technical Accounting
- Analyse complex accounting matters and prepare technical accounting papers under UK-adopted IFRS.
- Support implementation of new accounting standards and group accounting policies.
- Contribute to disclosures for annual and interim financial statements.
Audit & External Reporting
- Work closely with external auditors during interim and year-end audits.
- Prepare audit deliverables and address audit queries.
- Assist in the production of management papers for Board or Audit Committee presentations.
Group Finance Projects
- Support improvements to group reporting processes and systems.
- Assist with consolidation system upgrades in SAP and automate KPI reporting.
- Contribute to the development and documentation of group accounting policies and manuals.

Requirements & Qualifications
- Qualified ACA / ACCA (or equivalent finance qualification)
- Strong command of IFRS and group consolidation principles
- Proven experience in group reporting or audit of large international groups, preferably in oil & gas
- Exceptional analytical and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with international stakeholders/secured sources of funding
