Senior Client Accountant Location: Milton Keynes Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 Hybrid Working: 1 day per week from home
Are you an experienced practice accountant who enjoys building trusted relationships with SME clients? Do you want to work closely with ambitious business owners while developing your career in a modern, advisory-focused accountancy practice? We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior Client Accountant to join a growing team.
This is a varied, client-facing role where you'll manage your own portfolio of SME clients, providing accounting, tax and advisory services. You'll work directly with business owners, helping them make informed decisions, improve financial performance and achieve their growth ambitions.
This is not a traditional compliance-only role. The firm places a strong emphasis on building long-term client relationships, understanding clients' businesses and becoming a trusted advisor rather than simply preparing accounts.
You will have regular direct contact with clients and will occasionally visit their premises to gain a deeper understanding of their operations, challenges and future plans. This first-hand exposure enables you to provide more valuable commercial advice and support.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
